hey 1epoXyBox, i'd like to thank you for the great step by step. intsallation was simple using your instructions. this forum is a huge help for mechanically UN-inclined people such as myself. just put my LED tails on today and they are sick! purchased mine from bumimoto(ebay). i'll post up pics as soon as i learn how. thanks again.

get flasher relay: CF18-08 from suprebrightleds.com for $13 and you should be good without having to bother with all the resistors at each bulb. a direct replacement with oem for those changing to LED turn signals.

thanks 1epoXyBox. btw, do you have any water seaping in?
i noticed a little water getting in at the top of the LEDs. i've already made it tight enough. just wondering if i was the only one. i bought mine from bumimoto(ebay), don't know if that makes any difference. they all look the same to me.

Yeah. When I wash the car, I always see the soapy water on the bottom of the tail light. Not sure how it gets in, because I tightened those babys good. The water doesn't seem to stay in there forever, so I just live with it. I am too lazy to pull the lights apart and seal everything myself.

I like the red tops too. it hides the red reflector and it looks more like the current new toyota tail lights, 06 4runner, 07 Rav4, Prius, 07 Camry hybrid. etc

This a great writeup and deserves to be in the Tech section!!

vote+1 or that!

Just followed it tonight installing my own led taillights and it was just perfect.

The only thing I did change was putting the harness through the holes of the scion first before connecting them. That seemed to keep the wires from crunching up.

Have you ever looked at the xB flasher relay? If you have then you would know that universal flashers will not work.

I have never done anything to a car before, so if I got these and tried to install them do you think I'd be able to do it?

Also, what is a good seller on ebay? One that doesn't sell the ones where water gets in.
