Default Lower 2 stock grilles.....paint?

This might be a stupid question (I'am good for a few of those a day), but has anyone tried to paint the lower 2 stock, black grilles with anything like the chrome colored spray paint? I was just thinking that maybe if it would work, it would hold me until I could actually buy billet. I have used it on other stuff before and those projects came out pretty well.

Use silver paint, not chrome. Chrome will just show off the fact that they're not perfectly smooth.

I used some nice silver car paint from the auto store and some clear coat.

I agree don't use chrome paint. I don't think it would last especially since you can't clear chrome paint. Well you can but the chrome turns to dark flat grey. And if your looking for dark flat grey you should have just started with that color

Yes I primed with a plastic primer. I believe I used Dupli-color paint from autozone. I think that is the only kind autozone and salvos etc sell.
