Yes they are drilled in. The only way to do it

Another thing to look for from me in the future is a roof rack I am designing to go with the mirrors. This roof rack will be in the style of the old air-cooled VW's. I'll make it out of stainless tubing polished up to a high gloss shine and I will finish the rack off with wood slats.

I am going total old-skool with this thing. Look for it at the Ames, IA show.

I have British mirrors on my "other" car. I have found them to be completely useless and use a Whitney's mirror which fits on the edge of the glass.

Of course, this car is so big, (over 19' long) you would need F250 mirrors to drive it. The fact it is Right Hand Drive (British side) does not help, either. For the record, I am standing on a milk crate.
