need help...tail light installation
I know that it sound crazy. But I'm having problem installing tail lights. There is two 10mm nuts to be removed on each side. I successfully install the right tail light, but I couldn't remove the top nut on the left tail light. It is in the blind spot that I can see and is hard to get to it. It is so tight that my wrench couldn't get it out. I tried for about half an hour and the nut is rounded out in all cornors (still have some flat area, but no more sharp cornors) . I went to Kmart to get a Gator grid wrench. It can't remove the nut either
I will post a picture of my box with one stock and one TYC taillight tomorrow. It looks weird...
Anyone have any good idea of how to remove the broken nut?
Thanks!

I did a search. And I found some useful stuff.
Nut splitters
http://amos.shop.com/amos/cc/main/ca...t-Splitter-Set
or a taping kit at home depot
I will give it a try tomorrow.

I found some more cool stuff and would like to share..
1. Heat the bolt only first, then let it cool naturally.
2. Heat the area around the bolt AND the bolt at the same time.
3. While the bolt and surrounding area are hot, get an ice cube and put on the bolt ONLY.
4. Normally, if you can get a pair of vice-grips on the bolt, it will spin right out. No drilling required.
hope this applies to removing nuts also.

an update.
I went to sear to get stripped nut removers. I tried it, but it doesn't work. Can't get enough grip to untight it and now, the nut is totally rounded off. I have a mechanic helped me and he couldn't get it out either. So the solution for now is to remove the whole panel round the tail light and use a visor grip to untight it, or may be break it. This sucks real bad!! This nut really makes me nut
Anyone has a less destrutive idea?

Paste that into your post, highlight the whole string and hit the Img button on the top. It will add the bracketing needed and you end up with this:
Also, click on Quote for this post and you can see the formatting in plain text...
