Default Neon or LED underglow?

Okay, so I'm planning on getting a white underbody kit.
What are your opinions on LED vs. Neon?

I could care less about chase patterns or anything like that. I just want bright, solid color. I also have white cathodes running in my grille, so I'd like a white that is similar in color temp to white cathodes.

Thanks!

Well, if you don't care about patterns, color changing, etc., than neon is much brighter, so that's probably the path you should take.

Ive had both, and the neon is alot brighter! Also, when its wet out, the led's shine directly on the ground.

Why not just run cathodes underbody then?

^ Cathodes are pretty fragile and I haven't found any cathodes longer than 12"...

I have white neon. I plan on switching to white LED's, cuz the led's are usually flat strips. therefore easier to conceal. whereas with neon, you get tubing which is easily noticeable. unless you've dropped your ride. and when you can see even the slightest bit of the neon tubing, it looks tacky. but that's just my opinion.....

I'm dropped, and considering that I'd likely go with an Oznium kit (which is still round) if I do LED, tube visibility shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I checked the pic in your profile, that's pretty bright...

BUMP!

I'm leaning towards neon for the sake of brightness (and cost)
Anyone have bad experiences with neon?

the neon tube on the right side of my car has cracked at the end from a rock I guess. so the black part at the end that houses the wiring and what not kinda hangs down a little. i've got it taped up, but still. it bugs me.

I just got finished installing a Varad LED kit. It was without a doubt the most difficult thing I have ever installed. In total time, it took 11 hours. Once I turned on the kit, it was all worth it. It's awesome. It's very bright and all the extra programs (breathe, scanning, strobing, ect...) are kick ___. This was my first kit that I have ever installed and too me, it's just as bright as anything else I've seen.

well heres the deal

neon tubes, you break one your screwed, no fixing that really, also the tubes on neons are glass under that thin plastic tube

led tubes you break one you can get a new tube made from a plasic's shop maybe even a machine shop, since its simply a protective tube around the led strip

I have Neon in the past, and went through 2 sets before i set screw it, yes they are brighter, but WAY more fragile and easer to break just from rocks and stuff then the LEDs
