I totally changed the style of my engine bay in the past 2 weeks. I was really tired of wire loom and the color blue. I added HG Performance upper strut x-brace, carbon engine cover, TEIN hood dampers, removed wire loom, and actually cleaned it. I think it looks a million times better now....

 

I would agree I have just a few braided lines but everything else is just clean. The colored wirelooms are overplayed.

Strut brace was a custom job by HG Performance in Jersey. The guy traded his xB in for a Tundra and now is out of the Scion game. I might have the only one he made actually...

The brace is awesome and definately makes the B handle better

It did get in the way of the hood prop but obvisouly I found a way around that

The filter thing in the back was there when I bought the car preowned as well as 5 miles of blue wire loom and some other badly painted stuff. If you look in the picture some of the covers are missing because I have them in the garage drying after painting them back to black....

 

Peruzzi- How is the Tein hood dampers with a CF hood. I heard that the dampers are to stiff for CF hoods and it is hard to close. Is this true? Also heard that they are so strong that they feel like they are going to snap the hood in half or snap it out of place?

Yeah the hoods not Carbon Fiber. Its actually just Black Sand Pearl. The hood dampers are crazy strong and I could see why you wouldnt wanna put them on a CF hood. One of the dampers holds up the steel hood just fine actually. I thought two was a little overkill.

You cant order the upper strut brace Im rockin. It was basically a custom made brace. HG Performance was thinking about making them in production after getting a huge response on the prototype. They have completely stopped making Scion parts all together so Im the lucky owner now. Make me an offer for and maybe you can have it instead....

 

Anybody going to SEMA in Philly this weekend can see my ride. It will be there the entire weekend for all to see....
