Default Rear Bumper Protection Removal

I know this subject has been touched on from years ago but I was wonder now in the year 2012 if an 05 xB that has one on it can be removed without a awful amount of residue or dare I say fade from the sun so it would be two different colors; the one im choosing is silver and i woned a first gen and a second gen however Im trading in to get my box back because it feels so damn good but back to the subject. 7 years later would you feel weary taking off this accessory in relation to the amount of residue it will leave behind from years ago and also which is my main concern a difference in color on the car; thanks again

you should be able to remove it and take off the sticky residue with goof off or some specific adhesive remover for auto paint. as for the discoloration, you should be able to buff the area with some mild polishing compound and get the color back from the surrounding area. i have done several "sticker" and "pinstripe" removals and it is almost always ok. its even better if the paint is factory and not damaged. by damaged, i mean cracking or pealing. the base coat/clear coat is pretty durable and only gets faded if the clear coat is compromised. the oxidation usually cleans up pretty good.

Go for it.

Plus, the Sienna and Highlander bumper protectors work better and look better on the xB.

Applying heat should make it easier to remove and it will leave less residue behind...
