replacing door handles
anyone know how to remove exterior handles on a xb,i took off the inside door panel,i ripped a small hole in the plastic for the door, what to do next?????i have a friend coming over soon to help, but i wanted to get a jump on this project, any help would be appreciated
I haven't personally done these, but if it is like most cars there are bolts on the end of the door near the latch that you take out and then the handels come out. No disassembly of the door required.
Just a guess though.

the problem is ,that i can't get to the the other bolt,i got one off,but i have no sight of the other one,it's blocked by metal,i'm trying to put on chrome door handles???
all done, there are three torx screws by the latch,u have to take those off to get to them,i bought the handles and chrome mirror covers at carson toyota, best price around -i know i checked $160 for the handles and $60 for the mirror covers,i had jeff from www.hgperformance.com put them on for me in a snap.
I got mine on Friday and the fronts went on super quick but I'm having problems with the rears. That second bolt that holds the handle assembly in place (the one closest to the rear of the car) is impossible to get to. Any suggestions on getting to that bolt?
I got mine from Carson too. The mirror covers were only $60?? I thought they were over $100 and take 4-6 weeks to get in. Oh well, I'll go double check cause that's a great price for the mirror covers.

Ok thanks greicos_xb. I'm going to take another look at the assembly cause I don't recall seeing those torx screws. If I still can't figure it out, I'll try to get some pics up. Thanks again.
