A tip for installation of the JDM xB foglights.
If you bought the JDM factory bB foglights for your xB, they are drop-in fit except for the switch. While the JDM switch has a cool light in it, it will not directly plug into the factory xB wire harness connector.
So, one option would be to cut the connector and hardwire the switch in. Or buy a generic male-female connector and wire it into the switch circuit. Still a pain to attach (solder) the wires into the switch.
Here is a much better method. Switch has a male part of a standard Toyota 6-pin connector. Identical connector is used in the xB taillight circuit (and probably few other places). So, go to any local junkyard and find some junk Toyota vehicle. Doesn't have to be new. Seems that Toyota has been using the same connectors for at least the last 10 years.
I did just that, and found connectors which are perfect match for the JDM foglight switch. Just cut them out of the wire harness and leave couple of inches of wires. That will allow you to splice the connector into the existing xB foglights wire harness. And it is plug-n-play to the JDM switch, so it can be easily disconnected.
Here are some photos of the switch and the connectors I've found in the bone yard. They come in different colors but they all fit perfectly.

All Toyotas from the last 10 years or so should use the same connectors as Scion.
One I pilfered the connectors from was a Camry Wagon and aonther one I don't know as the interior was ripped apart and the hood and trunk lids were gone. But that made it even easier to get the connectors.

Yup, that is a standard Toyota connector. It is used several places in the car. And as you say, someone else in another post showed that a harness with this type of connector is available on eBay (could be Metra). In my situation junkyard was quicker and cheaper than buying it online.
Thank you Peteski! I'm going to try to order the switch from the dealer tomorrow.

I found this with all that work done using a connector.
It seems a little cleaner.
