Default What type of hood/windshield protector to use?

Just bought my ’06 xB & the first thing I want to do is put some type of bug deflector on the front of the hood. Already shows a few small scratches from debris, and I-75 around here is notorious for flying rocks.

I was thinking either a black acrylic deflector like I had on my Blazer, or the carbon fiber protector I see Scion offers. What do the rest of you have? Any recommendations?

For long trips I use the full front bra from www.colgancustom.com

I use none. Like my sig reminds us all, I'm letting my hood develop a patina. As it is, the previous owner decided that it would be funny too do a sh*t job applying non-matching touch up paint to about a hundred little dings.

Default ...Try the CLEAR bug dectector.

Try a clear bug dectector if you have color on your box.

Default ....Best MOD for gen1 XB's....

Hey xbizzle, we got drizzle!

Fitment was good, install was a breeze. Four fasteners go into 4 pre-drilled holes on the underside of the hood. The deflector works well, you can see bugs fly upward and over rather than seeing the splat on the windshield. Also, the clear bug deflector GLEEMS at night, it is like a lighted ornament. See photo:

Default ....Hopefully not DISCONTINUED.....

I hit that link and I do not see the CLEAR bug deflector anymore.
It is a LUND product, go to the LUND website and see if CLEAR is still available.

I hope it's not too late.....

I use to run a clear one in summer. It helps with the bugs big time.

I can't run mine anymore as i have LEDs in the holes.

I’m hoping to use either a black acrylic or the carbon fiber one. Already have a few dings from the previous owner to hide, otherwise I like the clear one.

Does the OEM carbon fiber one fit like a bra? I don't want dirt and stuff getting trapped underneath.
