I want to see if the car that is being delivered to me in the next week or 2 will be an 06. The guy that I'm dealing with a the dealership isn't that helpful on specific questions. If I could get a VIN from the dealer and compare it to what the o6 VINs start I at I could determine what year the car is.

Well if it's not an 06 you dont have to take it if you were promised one.

I would think anyways.

The tenth digit will be a 5 or a 6. That indicates the model year according to http://www.answers.com/topic/toyota-vin-codes

technically, it's NOT really an '06 unless that 10th digit is "6". They may call it an "06" with a 5 in that spot, but it's really not.

Um. Yeah. The car is being delivered in the next week or two. It'll be a 5 or a 6.
