Default 21 MPG

The three of us and our cargo for our road trip to san diego and going 105-110 the whole way we got 21mpg...

We left sunday midnight screamed down 99 then 5 , there were almost no cars. We meade into LA in 4 hours and into San Diego in about 5 and half I slowed down a bit once the sun came out..

I have V rated proxies so no frets....

The box needs a larger fuel tank and a longer final drive....
I want an insight 85mph and they were getting 75mpg (road and track)

The way the vehicle is driven has MUCH more effect on the mileage acheived than most people give credit to.

My xB has gotten anywhere from 23 to 36 MPG depending on how aggressively I've driven it. My 'median' is around 27-30 MPG as I'm a fairly aggressive driver on average.

...and Glen, that 3 percent error in the ODO is fairly well documented here on ScionLife from many folks running on the OEM tires...

Default Gas mileage xB From new till 2k miles

I have hit a 32 mpg best and a worst of 26 mpg, 05 xB 5 speed, I did the 3k rpm shift thing for a tank full with about 1k miles on it, and kept it under 70 mph on the interstate and hit the 32 mpg.

The 26 mpg tank was all city haulin butt.......needing to get places in traffic.

I did a tank full recently using it to go back and forth to work and then out to the race track doing some hard runs and filled up on the way home and still got 28. 563 mpg Not bad for haulin A $$. Huh ?

I am going to install the cruise control soon for the highway to help me keep off the 4k rpm mark and 80 mph. I just like to get home quickly after work !! Darn i hate that when that happens.........

I have an intake, exhaust, a grounding kit, 205/40ZR/17 rims and tires which by the way are the same diameter as the original 185/75R/15 rims and tires. so the mileage and speedo weren't affected. At least shouldn't have been in theory.

I am hoping with gas at over $3 a gallon for the cheap stuff i will do much better after the break in time. I'm hoping that's soon around 3 or 4 k miles.

Judging from your reported driving style - your after break in mpg will not significantly change. Unless, of course you quit "haulin A". Try feathers instead

drive as slow as you possibly can while being safe. Make sure you're using the correct gasoline. Double-check all calculations. And if you're still getting 22mpg, let someone else drive the car for one tank and see what they come up with. I'm guessing it's user-error.

I just made a trip to Branson, Mo., & Kansas City. On the way to Branson from Ft. Worth, I ran at 75 MPH with a MT, I was getting 33MPG. From KC back to FTW, I backed off and just cruised at 60MPH/2900RPM and was getting 38.8 MPG. That is with running the AC on all the time. I turned 28000 miles on the odometer on this trip and the MPG is very typical of what I've been able to squeeze out of it.
