Yeah, but it's supposed to be nearly impossible to win stuff off the Japanese auctions unless you go through one of those broker people. Then you have to pay them along with the price of the part and don't forget freight from Japan. Ontop of all that, I don't know if customs would hold it up too.
So, even if you could get them for less that $750 it would still be a big headache getting them.

I bet you could pay someone to LED your tails for you for less than $300 with all parts included. For those looking into doing it themselves, I submit this link:

Don't get me wrong, those LED's are sweet and all, but they are the most basic design. The 'Mr. Roboto stuff' is advancing the design to the next level and incorporating depth.

I too planned on makeing my own very similar to the ones you showed, and still might depending on the end product of PartsNgo's tails. But I'll be damned if I'm doing a simple three/four rectangle design.

I don't care what style they are. As long as they're LED and they're not chrome, I'll probably buy a set.

chrome=ricer
black/smoke=tastefuler

So are you getting the JDM ones or making them yourself?

Also, if they only make them in chrome, you can just 'tint' them red/smoked like many people are doing to their stock lights. :D

Latest news from Jeffrey @ Partsngo:

"I received the most updated news about the XB LED tail light. They will be available in three colors, Chrome, Black and Smoke. And it will be available in 6 months."

I would prefer that LED taillights do what LEDs do best, not try to mimic the rear end of a Buck Rogers spaceship. The taillights pictured here look like they were made for LEDs!

LEDs are made to light up. I don't see how either design fails in that respect. I see what you mean though, too futuristic for you. That's cool. You like things a wee more plain/to-the-point.

Anyway, here's the latest:

"I received the most updated news about the XB LED tail light. They will be available in three colors, Chrome, Black and Smoke. And it will be available in 6 months"

Straight from Jeff... Now all we gotta do is wait...
