I didn't write this, and I haven't tried the mod myself, but this might help you out...

Mods like this can look fine but some cops may not approve. I was stopped two times in the same small town for having both fog and headlamps on at the same time. Just warned. This cop claimed that it is not legal to run lights not normal with the specific vehicle. My Jeep had only headlights as factory issue. That, according to the cop, restricted me to using only two lights for driving purposes. He would allow installed headlamps or added fog lamps but not both at the same time.

I had been in and out of fog areas and just left the fog lights turned on. Turned the headlamps on when I was clear of fog.

Of course I am from Southern Illinois and we have some towns/villages which depend on traffic fines for funds.

what does are the laws regarding this in your state, I'd be willing to bet that it's B.S. Cops aren't lawyers, and only have a very narrow grasp of laws in their state. I've had maybe 5 fix it tickets that were totally bogus (including DOT aproved "ultra-brights" and exhaust tickets) all you have to do is look up the law pertaining to what the ticket is for and bring a copy to court with you. Also, keep a log of all the officers that pull you over, I had a friend that was harassed by one cop ALL THE TIME, and all of the tickets were thrown out in court, He sued the cop, and got quite a bit.
