Has anyone bought one of the keyless entry remotes from eBay? There are a number of folks selling them for under $20. It appears that most sellers are just re-selling used remotes. I know how to program it, so no problems there...

The majority of the feedback on these sellers is positive...it just seems like too good a deal...what do you think?

 

rather buy from an authorized dealer and installer... you usually get what you pay for...there are a number of great alarms for sale here on SL....

they usually give you a good deal if you buy and install at the same place...

I bought one last summer for a used xB. The remote is Toyota, for the Rav4, etc. I programmed it and it works like a charm. I went for price (lowest, w/ shipping), and couldn't be more pleased. I see no reason to go to the dealer and pay a big premium for peace of mind. Go with a well-rated seller. Most of them will take returns.

I bought a spare remote off ebay also and had absolutely no problems. I programed it and use every day for a couple yrs now. It is a genuine OE remote.
Go ahead and do it and forget the dealers prices.
