Default Beeping Sound When Engine Turned Off

Does anybody know how to turn off the beeping sound EVERY thirty seconds or so AFTER I have turned off the engine, pulled out the key and closed the door? Thanks

Default Scion Light

The lights are turned off. The beeping is coming from "approximately" the dashboard on the driver's side.

1st or 2nd gen? are there any lights on the dashboard light that are lit when that is happening? I can't think of anything that would beep that slowly.

Default Beeping Sound

As far as I know, it had beeped for at least five hours with 30 second intervals. It is a first generation and when it beeped no lights accompanied it.

When I woke up the next morning, the beeping has mysteriously stopped and has not resumed.

Thanks for responding to my inquiry anyways

One guy here in SL had an alarm clock under the front seat ... Took a while for him to find his beeping noise. The only other thing that is active in the car when the ignition is turned off is the emissions system for the gas tank which runs a pump to check for gas cap tightness and I think reduces fuel tank pressure.

Do you have an aftermarket radio? Some beep to remind you to take off the faceplate.

Default Aftermarket

I didn't have to buy anything aftermarket. There was a plug to attach a wire from the car to my IPOD so the stereo worked fine. Thanks for your input but that was not the problem.

It's the muffler bearing sending unit.
