Breaking the news
Quick question? How do you go bout telling one of ur members who owns a growing audio shop, that for the amount of money you paid for the system he installed isn't up to par. I can understand the components alone and material cost money; but the workmanship.... Workmanship also is what you pay for. I don't want to go hurt this guys feelings or get thisguy ____y, i just want my enclosure done right.
Workmanship is a HUGE part of a quality install. I would say you are disappointed with how it looks and if his clients want to take him seriously he should step up his game. Audio shops are a dime a dozen and quality, properly planned installs separate the hacks from the professionals.
If he runs the business, don't worry about hurting his feelings. He will probably end up thanking you someday.

Criticism, whether it's good or bad, is still constructive in some way or another. Tell the guy about it and make recommendations on how to improve and why you don't like the end result.
agree everyone told me to go to this one shop because its there friend and this and that so i went ooohh man was that a mistake..he installed everything wrong not once not twice but 3 times..then a the dvd player went out 3 times said it was me breaking it??took him 3 months just to get all the parts and install..i finally decided to call the company that made the products and ask them.right away they told me it was a issue and that guy was buying old models and selling them without letting the customer know, thank you soundstream!!i redid the whole the setup of my 3 tv's from some joe smoe guy that did it out of his garage for 50 bucks and he even fixed other issue's.id def let him know you are not happy and ask him how you can help him to fix your problem..he should be more than happy that you are wanting to work with him...sorry about the rant just poor workmanship really ticks me off
It is best to use word of mouth. If a shop (regardless if you are buying a stereo, puppy, or dishwasher ) wants to retain money and business coming in, they will do it right the first time, and not rape you on the price. Im the biggest advocate and will gladly promote a good business either in person or via internet forums like this one. The opposite also applies ... if you want my business and future business, then you better do right by me or ill let everyone know just how much you suck.

just talk to him about what you've seen other people do and then mention that you don't feel that yours is up to par for the cash you paid, and suggest what he should do to make his product better. he needs to know before he screws up someone's goodthat will take it hard.

I know it's gonna be hard to level with him but if he wants his business to survive he will have to stay away from comebacks. You will see by his reaction to your complaint how or if he will be able to redo it right. Good luck and keep us posted please.
