Default broken rear seat fold-down release ****

This weekend I found the **** which lifts up to release the passenger side of the rear seat (for folding down) broken off and laying in the floor. Not sure how that happened. Has anyone else seen this? I called the dealer earlier this week and told them about it, they made an appointment for this morning, I took it in and after they fiddled around with it they proclaimed "yup, it's broke!" They are ordering another ****. Do these things break easily and should I keep a few handy for spares? What actually broke on this one is a red plastic insert in the **** which screws onto the post of the release mechanism.

I want a spare, now. If you get the part number, please post it.

Had the same thing happen here. Pulled the ****, dropped it forward, later found it on the floor. I think its a design flaw. Ill probably replace it with somethign that wont break so easy, maybe an old-style door lock ****. And "gently lower" your rear seats (makes it harder to releqase them when loading from the back though.)

Yes indeed, dealership (McDonough in Staunton VA) handled it great. They called and said it was in, I took it over, got one of my free oil changes, was quickly on my way with nary a penny out of pocket.

I would think if it kept happening they would have to keep fixing it forever.
