I'd like to meet this guy, and shake his hand. Why you might ask? For coming up with the worst possible cause of misfire ever. I mean seriously, give him an award someone. You sure he works at toyota? And not just some random guy with a toyota uniform?

As for the dolphins, i've seen it. *Sighs* It can get ugly, it can get ugly real fast. Damn misfires! Damn you!!

i agree with suspended. before i bought my xb i bought my 96 civic hatch from a guy who had some pretty big RS rims on it... he took them off and sold it to me. what i didn't notice was that there was something wrong with the tranny though... there were rattling noise coming from the tranny. i fix it my changing trannies. im not sure if 18" can have the same affect on xb trannies. thats why i got my 17" motegi dp6. anywase i was just wondering is anybody out there who is running 18" on their xb and how are your trannies holding up?

Take it to another dealerships. They usually have to prove with evidence that a certain part has caused the CEL.

Also be aware, Toyota dealerships have tons of wheel lock keys. So they can very well have taken off your wheels. THey have a wheel lock for almost any size/shape style.

i know how u feel bro. when i took my car in to get fixed, they didnt know anytihng about my car. they didnt even know that there was an RS edition of the scions. They thought my wheels were completely aftermarket. didnt know that my grille came from the factory either. its just outrageous how these ppl that work in the repair centers of dealerships dont know anything about their own cars. i know its not for all but it was for me and Don.

did you catch him in his lies and point it out to him that u had 2 different sets of wheel locks? haha shoulda made him feel stupid. and if he pulls sum bull about having those keys for them u should tell him to show u . thats what i woulda done lol.

sorry to hear about ur problems. good luck in the future

I would immediately call the general manager and report the situation. Then tell him (the GM) if action was not taken, you will be filing a report with the BBB and reporting them to Scion.

Dishonest car dealers disgust me to no end.

Ok, I didn't want to call out names, but it was Keyes Toyota/Scion in Van Nuys.

I wouldn't say they are a bad dealer, just not "mod friendly" I actually like the place, and got my car from them. The problem was a bad tech (didn't get his name) refusing to do anything to fix the CEL code, then being backed up by a dishonest service manager by the name of John Williams.

I'm not totally done with that dealer. After contacting Scion Corp. they quickly got in line and kissed major azz. And I can say that the CEL hasn't went off again.

Just know that if you have mods, ANY mods (even just rims ) they will avoid warranty work at all costs.

Mods or not, there is no excuse for outright lies in a professional organization.

I'd expect that from a used car dealership or a shady mechanic, but NOT a legitimate Scion/Toyota dealership.

Those employees should be dealt with swiftly and harshly. Dishonesty going unpunished will only lead to more dishonesty.
