How much would they take off on trade in value if your car has a few noticeable chips and scratches on the hood and front bumper and some dings in both doors and some scratches on the fenders? Does paintscratch's paint match it exactly? Will the dealer be able to tell if i did have scratches and tried to fix it or should i just leave it alone and let them deal with it?

i don't have the time, everyday is a gamble. I get into near fatal near hit near wrecks everyday. i hate it, i don't know why people like to push around the small car. i wish i could put 30" mudders on it and make it look like the hulk, but it's not possible and we got a lot of a$$holes on the road too. And i think i would get a dealer fee if i sold it myself since i sold 6 used cars last year within a 4 month time frame. my insurance is ____ed at me right now also.

i owe about $12,000 left so if i could sell it for at least $14000, which is cheaper than any dealer will give you, but i'm not sure anyone here will just give me $14k just like that and i will NOT accept payments b/c payments from an outside buyer won't freaking work. they will steal it in a second once they get the title. i really don't trust alot of people here like i did in the mainland. you gotta have security in your car or else something will get stolen.
There has just been a lot of storys on here about people getting upset with what the dealer offers them for their car. Buyers can get a loan from a bank and cash you out if need be. Do you have any dealers like CarQuest that will make you an offer to buy your car? That would be a good way to establish a value.

Many of those perceived slights from other drivers may not be intentional. I'd say a majority of the big SUV drivers have no clue about the dimensions of their vehicles and all the blind spots. Just watch one try to park and you'll see. There should be additional driver testing before someone is allowed to buy or drive anything larger than a compact car.
Unless the damage your car is excessive or it's a 2006, it's probably "normal wear and tear" and "good" condition. Look it up on KBB- you'd probably get the trade in "good" condition value from a dealer.
