Desert driving
I drove to Vegas from LA.... I have limo dark tinted windows all around but still had to keep the A/C on Fan II to keep the cabin cool... otherwise itz FRiggin hot! but we're talking about over 100F with the sun right above you in the desert though!
Well, I used to _____ quite a bit about my AC on my '04 xA. I did have one of the TSBs done and that seems to have made a dramatic improvement. We've had some warm days lately here in the IE area of SoCal and the AC has managed to keep me pretty cool. I currently don't have a tint on my window, so I'm sure that makes some difference.
The AC is not as cold as, say, our '03 Ford Focus, or other vehicles that I drive (I drive later model Astro Vans or occassionally an '04 Toyota Sienna at work), but it's adequate for the xA. I do have to turn the temp up once it's been going a while, but not as far up as the other cars I mentioned.
It works best at freeway speed and warms up in slow traffic, which is true of most ACs that don't have an actual thermostat in the car to regulate the temp. It also works very well when I use the recirculator after getting the AC at a good cold temp.
