Default Does Scion tC key work in xB

I was wondering if it is possible to get a blank tC key with the remote built in and have it cut to use in my xB and then have the remote programmed to work on my xB with scion secuirty and does anyone have an idea of the cost to have this done? I would really like to have a key with built in remote

it shouldnt be hard, just to pull out the scion security from the tC and place it in the xB. now im just thinking theoretically. that would be the first step and then actually doing it will be the next step

The XB keys don't have the remote built in? IMO I like it better that way. With the Acura I like hanging the remote out of my pocket. With the tC I cant.

Its not only the security system. Not sure about the xB but the tC has a immobilizer chip inside. Not sure if that helps any. The key works with the car without the scion alarm. I don't have the alarm and the key works with it, so im pretty sure the alarm isn't going to help much.

bump.

I would love to get rid of the seperate key fob and use the tc key/remote to operate my xb.

I do not have security nor am I particularly interested. I just want it to work the keyless locks and the iginition.

Anybody have any idea if this is possible?

Default tc key

I wondered the same exact thing so I asked the dealer, several of them as a matter of fact. They all said that it would not work. I also contacted Scion directly and was told that it would not work. Sorry, hopefully someone will still try and prove them wrong, then post the "how to"
