Hey all,

I need some advice / support here. I’m a huge fan of the box (I’ve test driven the thing at least 6 times and taken the GF along twice and have loved it every time). I haven’t been in a position to buy one until a 5 months ago but given where we are in the life cycle of the car, I’ve been waiting for the re-designed 07’s to come out (I know its not going to be the JDM bB which I actually like and if its going to be anything like it, I want to wait for it). The only thing that has given me the strength to hold off on getting the current model is the fact that I couldn’t get my ultimate favorite color, Camo, new nor have I had any luck finding it used. If I was going to get a new car or pay for a nearly new car, I sure wasn’t going to compromise (so my logic went). Well, the day has come where a local dealer is offering an 05 camo box for $12.5k with 23k on it. So, my main excuse for waiting for the 07 is gone. However, I’ve waited this long, shouldn’t I just wait a bit longer (next Spring is the best estimate) for the next gen?
The thing is that I’m very happy with my current ride (a 95 Integra) but life is short and I want to enjoy it in a slow moving, spacious box.

Any facts or opinions that would help me decide would be appreciated.

Facts are in short supply. Opinions are like--well you know--everyone has one. The only thing we know for sure is that they will have that Torched Penny which is said to be an 07. (Picture was shot at the Torrance Toyota HQ) The guess is that redesign will be the 08 out in the Spring. I just can not see paying 12.5 for a used car (does it have mods) When a new one is not much more. If you are in love with that color and nothing else will do--at least that is not an exhorbinate price. Best of luck to you..........

 

$12.5 isn't too bad for an '05 xB. In fact, I would have snapped it up.

From what I have been told by people on this board, the '07 is not worth waiting for. Although, it is your call. If you like the xB now, why not just buy it. If you wait for the new model to come, you will have to fight harder to get one, likely pay more, and with it being the first year of a new model, suffer the problems.

IMHO, if it is going to look like the bB, the xB looks better. The JDM bB out now looks like a p*ssed off pug.

 

there will be no 07's.

the 08's will come out late spring ish of 07 but it will get worse gas mileage , imo be ugly as all hell , larger , heavier , slightly faster.
