Default dumbass!

what kind of a-hole come on a scion forum and makes anti-scion remarks. its like walking into a church and saying "i hate christianity". to tell us that our product is obsolete and inferior (or soon to be) is not only making you sound like an idiot but inferring that all of us on this forum are. what doesnt become obsolete in two to three years? i bought my computer 6 months ago but i didnt immeditely go onto the dell.com website and post "why did we buy these computers" they're going to be obsolete soon. how about this, why dont you sell your xB to someone who is waiting for one on backorder and stop _____ing about the bad purchase you've made?
additionally, for you to say they "missed their target" i dont think so. im 21 and i have 2 friends that are within 2 yrs of my and we all have xBs. and for the guy that said that the scion "target" is full of people that cant afford their car without mommy and daddy, maybe such generalizations should be researched before you make them, i paid cash for mine and my buddies put at least half down each, on theirs. all without mommy and daddy. sorry to be a downer, but its sad to see people attacking in the forum. why not be a little more constructive.

*edit*
btw: im talking about the pt cruiser thread

I think the term is "Jackass".

I'm part of the Scion target myself, though, albeit at the low end. I'm only 17, and I'm gonna get mine, soon. My parent's aren't buying it for me outright, either. The car I was handed down from my dad, with the work I've put into it, is worth between $5500-$7000, which will make a nice down payment.

I'm 24, and i'm pretty sure the loan on the car is in my name. Also, i'd say the vast majority of my customers on scion are in the target group (although a lot have some help from their parents. not that there's anything wrong with that. i know I wouldn't complain if my dad wanted to help me pay for a car).

I think public forum like this has enough room for people to rant about what they feel. Of all the Xbs Toyota sold in last several months, there ought to be people who are not happy with their car. It's just not avoidable.

Now considering that fact, it's amazing how low that number is. I hardly see anybody complain about the car. And frankly, the person who is referred as "dumbass" did not do enough homework. He says himself. He bought it just because he liked it at first site. Impulsive buying will always have bad results!!!

that pt cruiser thread confused me. i know the guy is whining about how he is upset because people are commenting on his car and old people are starting to drive them now, but he didn't say if he was going to sell it or what he was going to do about it. i mean, it's cool if you need to vent, but if you are just going to complain about it, that's not really going to help anything. if you can get past the issues, keep the car. otherwise, sell it and get a civic and keep it stock. then people will leave you alone and you can get on with your life.

Default IT'S ALL GOOD

DON'T WORRY LITTLE BUDDIES, BIG BRO TO THE RESCUE...

I REALLY DON'T CARE WHAT THIS JACKASS SAID. I'M 30+ WITH A WIFE AND KIDS, FINANCIALLY STABLE.

FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, WHOEVER SAID THAT PEOPLE WITH SCIONS CAN'T AFFORD REAL CARS, I JUST HAVE TO MENTION THE FOLLOWING:

PLEASE DON'T GLARE WHEN YOU SEE THE PAINT ON MY BLACK MERCEDES,

DON'T BE AFRAID WHEN YOU FEEL THE WIND BRUSH BY YOU WHEN I FLY DOWN THE FREEWAY IN MY EXPEDITION

AND FINALLY STOP TURNING YOUR HEAD WHEN YOU SEE A ONE OF A KIND ALFA ROMEO.

IN OTHER WORDS, I LOVE CARS. WHEN MY WIFE ATTENDED LAST YEAR'S 2002 CAR SHOW AT THE MOSCONE CONVENTION CENTER IN SAN FRANCISCO, THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE THAT I FELT WE HAD TO HAVE SOMETHING DIFFERENT, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE SCION XB. MY WIFE IS JUST LEARNING TO DRIVE AND THIS WAS THE PERFECT FIT, COMPACT, AFFORDABLE ETC.

HAVING A SCION DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN'T AFFORD A GOOD QUALITY CAR, IT JUST MEANS, BE PRACTICAL AND USE YOUR BRAIN AND NOT YOUR WALLET.

i agree wtih NUF H8N. i think most of us are different from other people who own $14,000 cars in that a lot of us have other cars and money to mod our cars, so they will look nicer than a lot of the pieced together, unpainted civics out there with also cost about the same price as our cars when new. i don't have another car, but i know a lot of people who have scions that have 3-4 other cars, and the xB is just a new toy. so the myth that all xB owners are poor or can't afford anything better is totally false, and needs to be disspelled immediately. and some of us are poor, and that's cool too. just because you have money doesn't make you a better person. having an original car that's different and doesn't conform to what everyone else has shows a lot of character and says something about the owner.

sorry if this post was dumb.

I agree too. I was looking into buying a Subaru WRX sport wagon or a Nissan Murano, both cars of which are in the $25K-$30K+ range. I just liked the uniqueness of the xB so much more, and the fact that it cost about half as much and is way better on gas was a big plus. I also own another car... a 93 Prelude Si. So if people are beginning to stereotype Scion owners as poor, they should think again.

I've been driving an 86 Porsche 944 for 11 years--why drive anything else? Until I had to start thinking about transporting the family, that is. This jerk-off is more concerned about image than what makes sense in an automobile. He's just mad because he was expecting his car purchase to get him dates like he was driving around a Ferrari or something.

I'm 30, expecting our first born, and we needed everything that the XB has in spades!

--room (4 doors and mucho passenger space).
--reliability (It's a Toyota!)
--fun (how do 40 mph off-ramps feel?)
--style (it's definitely unique)
--affordability (not only cheap price, but cost of ownership is negligeable compared to others)

He sounds like a loser to me--"Oh Wahh, I can't afford a Ferrari, so I bought this Scion to get me noticed, but no one's kissing my ___ when they see me--wah wah"

I was driving home yesturday in my lava xb. Saw a yellow xb at the stop light in front of me and was looking forward to seeing who was driving. i pull up closer and I see this purple tint. It was the womans hair. She was easily 80 years old. I just shook my head. But I had to chuckle.
