I hope all goes well tomorrow at the Doc's - my experience is after a day or two is when you really feel it. I hope you're okay.

Hi quackPOT:
After the MD appointment, while you are still there, ask the MD for a referral to a reputable CHIROPRACTOR.

Then, go and see him ASAP... if not sooner!
- You NEED to straighten the frame of your body after such an impact. :D

BTDT.

I hope you pointed out that if he'd been driving a normal vehicle or a reasonable pickup, as common sense would dictate, that you probably wouldn't have gone skipping into oncoming traffic.

Dodge Rams are as unreliable and driver-unfriendly as they are dangerous to other cars - there's no good reason to own one. Even without knowing that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety determined that more people are killed by Rams than any other vehicle, any person who looks at that grille height and still thinks it's a good purchase is playing with other peoples' lives.

Glad you're okay...it could have been much, much worse. Good luck in the courts!

Hmmmm, someone sounds like a dodge hater, have you seen the new Ram yet? Its awesome...

If you cant Dodge it, Ram it.

to the OP good thing you're alright, the box can be replaced... good luck.[/img]

it doesn't sound like he is a dodge hater as much as he is just not happy with the dodge ram in general and how it affects others on the road. i could be wrong though.

Well the insurance company called, the xB is totaled. *sigh* Neck and back is super sore, but I have Dr. and Chiro appts. set up for Monday.

I popped into a Scion dealership to scope out the new xBs today. I'm thinking that I'm more than likely just going to get another xB. Debating on getting a used 06 or a new 08. We'll see... I've got a free rental car for 30 days, so I'm not going to do anything right away.

Default Got crunched by a dodge ram

Def get head and neck checked. Blacksandbox had a drunk pull out in front of him. Crunched the front of his box real good. It wound up being totalled. He had a hard time with the other guys insurance. His insurance finally kicked in and helped. He is still suffering from neck and back pain, headaches and dizziness. This is 2 months later. Drunks case still hasn't gone to court. Mark finally found a Camo XB 06, $12k to replace his BSP. He found a 06 BSP at a Mitsubishi dealership, 24k miles, $16900. This was stock with no extras. Salesman said it was their special price. Yeah, right. Hard to find a good one around here at a decent price, most are priced at higher than sticker price.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I almost traded mine for a newer XB, but I've decided, along with today's gas prices I would most likely replace my XB1 with another XB1 if it ever gets totalled, mostly because of today's gas prices! I love the mileage I get in the little box car. But I am seeing used XB1s that are stock selling for more than I paid for mine! I checked, and mine was valued at 11.5K trade in. No wonder people refer to them as stealerships! They would sell mine for at least 1k more than I paid for it!

Good luck and let us know the outcome. Most will forgive you if you go for the XB2, I've test driven one, and they are nice and have a higher safety rating, just use a bit more gas

a bit more is an understatement, oh and I saw an 05 camo with 25k on it going for 8k, at a smaller used car dealer, that specializes in infinities, lexuses and bmws

This is your big chance to get whatever xB you want. Personally, I'd start searching for a low mile Lava or Envy. lap;
I'd be all over Autotrader starting my search and planning the trip to retrieve my find.

I'm glad you are OK. I, however, would go for getting the xB you really want... whatever that may be. The other guys insurance SHOULD cover it. Get some positive out of this damn negative.

One thing I've learned about xB shopping is something others have already pointed out: try to get them at other car dealerships, who don't know what they have. A lot of people still think of the original xB as a funky niche vehicle that most of the public won't be interested in, not a highly-sought-after vehicle with bulletproof resale value. Try to find some idiot Chevy dealership where they've priced it at $7000 because they can't imagine why anyone would buy it.

heh...you sound like the guys who buy based on what your daddy and his daddy bought, without ever actually thinking about things like "quality" and "handling." I've seen the "new" Ram now, and I'm unimpressed; it still looks like a scaled-down semi for boys who never grew out of the "big truck" stage. Rams are sold based on how far the driver is willing to go to feel manly, and nothing else, because in every other category they SUCK.

As for how they "affect" other people, SnowRomance is right - I think it's horrendously designed. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that a rounded front is going to miss most of another car's safety cage and concentrate a lot of mass on a very small point...or, in layman's terms, plow through the passenger cabin. And you really didn't notice that the hood is level with the roofs of other cars? That seems like a good idea to you?

I'll consider the new Rams "awesome" when they fix the glaring problems with the vehicle...though at this rate with Chrysler, it's going to be very moot very soon!

I'm not a dodge fan or hater, but I bet any full size truck would have caused similar damage in the same accident. Any full size SUV for that matter as well.

Good luck on your hunt, I vote First Gen XB.

that thing is ugly. and dodge is overrated. look at any truck magazine and when they do the diesel shoot-out the Ford Turbo-Diesel wins. i drive one at work everyday and it kills the dodge diesel that we have everyday.

to the OP just take it as a sign that it was time for a change and hope everything goes good at the doc and chiro.

Like SUV drivers, pickup truck drivers are almost completely insane. Horribly aggressive drivers in poor handling and heavy vehicles are not a good thing.

he's a dodge hater, he needs to loose his box and go get a ford, see how he likes spending 99% of his time sittin on the side of the road broke down, I've had my dodge 6 years, and only had minor issues with it, any truck or suv would have done that exact same damage, hell the new tundra, most likely woulda plowed right through the xb and kept going, its a good 3 feet taller then the xb
