Default Has anyone seen a hot lava in a 5sp yet??

Just wondering. My dealer says that he has mine at his lot (cant look at it...having the car shipped). Everytime I ask him "so its a 5 speed right", he sounds kinda sketchy. I already have the vin number but when I look it up on carfax it doesn't say 5 speed or auto...

Ask the dealer for your processing code. 6200 is an auto ... 6201 ( amybe 6211 too, im not sure ) is the stick. Dont tell him you know the code, just ask him to look it up, or ask the inventory manager, he can spot it too. I have dealt with my inventory manager more then my dealer, cause he would know more then the dealer, and would know before the dealer.

Well I am serioulsy thinking of calling the other scion dealer in town and asj=king if they have a 5spd allocated. my dealer did not allocate one when i asked, instead they allocated an auto.

Now I am getting very frustrated. I pormised my salesrep I would stick with him but if the other dealer has one I'll have to bail.

Dont feel bad dude, your not going to make a long term friendship with the dealer are you? Look at it this way, dealers are in the business of what? _____ Bueller? Thats right, selling cars. Some dealers care a little more, and go the extra mile, while others sit back, scratch their ___'s, and then cry cause they dont make money for lack of sales. BOO-HOO, cry me a freaking river, try getting off your ___ and be nice and follow through with the sale you lazy bastard.

Geez, you would think i have issues.

I asked my dealer to see about getting that one Friday. THey aren't sure they can trade out of area. I'm in Elpaso Tx, as far west as yuo can get and still get a Scion (except cali).
I couldn't go out and pick it up as it would be a 3 day drive back over here. thats about 1600 miles from whereI am.

Still no luck!

Other dealer emailed me back sayingthey don't have any 5spds allocated, the 3 RS1's they have are sold. They will take my order but they can not promise to fufill it

DAMN SCION

Why the hell can't they just say, OK here are where all XX number of autos are Going, and Here is where all XX numbers of 5spds are going in your region.

You are (or are not) going to get one.

I am severely tired of this _____footing around. I might end up going with another brand of vehicle altogether, or just buying a used car for the same 4k as my downpayment. I don't have time to wait anymore without a yes it will be here or no it wont response. I need a good reliable car real soon (with in the next 30 days max), or time to order a different SCION or other CAR. Or to call GA and buy that one and have my dad pick it up and use it until I can get to MS to drive it to TX.
If they were at least willing to give me a discount on the auto because they can not fufill my order I might consider an auto, but I will not buy an option I do not want, to get an option I do. Isn't that what SCION was supposed to be about in the first place?
Isn't that why the prices are no haggle prices?

IF I am not getting a %@#*&$@ 5spd RS1, then tell me and I might get a stripper Blue Onyx 5spd with no options. No RS1- NO options. I'll go aftermarket for Rims, Right Now I am almost to the point of telling 2,600 employees I work with and supervise not to purchase a Scion. Right now the only Person in the 4th largest employer in Elpaso trying to buy a Scion is ME. An RS1 would be the ultimate "turn on" to the brand. However most of them have already heard about my attempts to purchase this vehicle, and are shocked that I have not even been told whether or not I am going to get one. I've been waiting since about Feb 3rd or 4th, and they know this.

Since I heard about them on jan 31'st (saturday) the dealership officially opened on Monday the second, and I asked them if they were going to allocate a 5spd that day, since I was interested. They said they did, but weren't sure about getting one so they did not want to take my $ yet.
I got the email saying come on down its been allocated, give us the deposit.
what was allocated was 2 autos. I told em 5spd at least 2 -3 times in every single conversation. I am on a budget. I can't afford the RS1 and the Auto option, and I refuse to buy an auto on a 4 cylinder ever again. (had one on a cavalier, what a sluggish turd). I test drove the XB at night with an auto and decided I liked it and wanted one Jan 31st. Idecided that the auto was a tad to slow and decided that an xB 5 spd would fit the budget, convinced the wife to go RS1 becuase of all the options, and here I sit. No Idea if It will ever come in or not.

SCION should have made at least 1000 manuals.
Not about 300 -350 which I what it is starting to look like they made.

I am really really really mad

this is exactly why i think scion's poor planning is going to bite them in the ___. limited edition is one thing. but when it seems like your dealer is working against you, or when you can go to a forum and get information that supprises your own scion dealer. thats when you have a problem. you can't disappoint your customers like scion has done so many of theirs. i mean alot of us have been let down. but ____ man you'll get it. there is still time i believe go to another dealer. what i would do is go to scion websites and check dealer stock you may find one that way or try a bigger dealer that has better sales. i don't know your situation but there are still alota people that don't know about the rs1. your chances may be better than you think

There are only 2 dealers within 5 hours of here. I'm doing business since Jan 31'st with one, the other doesn't have one allocated either.

I'm at the very very western tip of texas, I would have to go to DFW or somewhere like that to get one, or Jump to SET who it seems is getting more (34 vs 13 in one allocation) 5spds.
Problem Is I don't have either the days off for a trip like that (we work 6 days a week)
or the $ for a trip (it's all for the downpayment) or a way to go. My wife's car is on its last leg. I won't even drive to the other side of town in it, much less take a 8 hour drive to Dallas.
The next town EAST is 3 hours away and they don't even have a scion dealership.
south, WEST and NORTH there are no scion dealers.I'm really and truly SOL unless scion gets off the ball and does something themselves.

I doubt they are open right now.
I work nights, it's after 230 Est when I get home.

I just might give them a holler and ask when the last of the 5spds are coming in.
Ireally want to be a customer, but if I get burned... well that s 2600 employees at work. Bad service I can spread like wildfire. Sonic has suffered a major decline in sales since They messed up my order 3 times on a row. Most folks won't buy from them anymore.

If I get it all those people will hear about how great the company is. and most if not all 2600 will see this bright orange beacon in the parking lot, and get interested.

i totally understand. word of mouth is the best/worst marketing tool. keep your customers happy and you'll never go wrong is my thoughts. good luck with your rs1 i hope scion customer service can help. i felt the same way as you a few weeks ago. my dealer really wasn't impressing me at all. seemed like the people on this forum were more imformed than my sales rep. things got better though. i also hope your dealer understands how serious you are about this purchase. PM me if you have any questions or concerns.
