I thought it might. My mom had a '99 Civic that had a protrusion-lens-thingie on the headlight housing that seemed to be specifically for that purpose.

Step 1: Check to make sure coffee cup is not still on roof of car
Step 2: Check ScionLife forum

This also happened to me few times. I agree that between the headlights being located quite high up and a stiff and bouncy ride, other drivers might think that we either have hi-beams on, or that we're flashing them.

My ride is stock and I haven't touched headlight adjustement (yet). I think that the factory headlight adjustment is a bit high anyways. While it is great for us, it annoys other drivers. I can see that my headlihgts shine quite far when I drive on a dark even road. Then when I hit some bumps the headlight beams shoot right up.

One of these days I might lower them a bit.

I've noticed that when you switch on the brights, the projection of the light seems a lot higher than the low-beams.

If you look through the first page of posts in this thread you should see a message explaining how to turn the plastic "crown gear" like wheel to adjust the headlights. You don't bend anything.

Just like most cars, each headlight has 2 of those screw-wheels. One for horizontal, the other for vertical adjustment.

That's the way they're supposed to work - or am I being dense and missing a joke?

And yes - the low beams do seem a bit high. I was driving last night on a rural road and didn't even bother turning my high beams on because I could see plenty far in front of me as it was. And I did get flashed by someone (too late to flash 'em back - drat!).

I used to have the same problem before lowering the box. Now I have been brighted once by someone I passed because he didn't like my HID's. Oh well....

And its about as easy to reach, as the vertical adjustment, sucks when you have big hands.

Hmm... looks to me this they only have vertical adjustment.
Right from the service manual:

Nothing about horizontal adjustment....

Default 2 screws. 2 adjustments

Ok, there is on screw on the upper edge by the mounting tab on the fender. And there is one screw on the lower edge of the headlight near the core support. I took picutres, but I cant remember how the hell to post them.

maybe instead of doing WEAK **** 2 inch drops get a mans drop of more than 3 inches.
Lucky Cali people. Around here there's no chance of driving a lowered car without beating your kit to death. They've gotten on this new kick where every speedbump/entrance has to have these huge bumps/dips. . . . Stupid Alabama.
atleast you don't have the guy that designs the arkansas roads, they get a pothole, a small one (say 1' wide) they make sure to make it 15' wide and 6 feet deep, fill it with gravel, then chip seal the entire road, our dirt roads are smoother then the paved roads, I get flashed constantly because my car bounces so badly, and no I'm not about to lower my car with these crappy roads

Using a big phillips screwdriver the adjustment crown gear meshes with the phillips head as if they are teeth and make it easy to turn. Or you can use a 1/4 inch nut driver on the back side of the crown gear adjuster. Usually a complete turn makes a pretty big adjustment but you could be off by 2 or three turns. Get the low beams shining low enough so you can see the end of the spot they make on the road clearly - if it fades into the distance then they are too high. The headlights are high off the road so they tend to shine into cars easier - I make the left one a little lower than the right one so I don't shine into on-coming cars. The high beams light up tree tops and are are crazy high with not enough light on the road - can't do much about that however. These beams are pretty intense due to the very clear glass lens. I had to raise mine because I could only see about 75 feet ahead of me.
