Default HELP, A/C stopped working

As topic states, my XBs air conditioning was working fine yesterday, while I was gone, my dad refilled the car with a can of a/c coolant, and he said it was blowing cool air. Today, however, the a/c isn't working at all, it won't blow any cool air and doesn't even seem to turn on. I checked the fuse and it's fine/ Anyone have any suggestions? It's 102 where I live, and the Xb is my daily driver, so I need this fixed quickly.

Thanks

I'd recommend taking it by a shop and see if they can give a quick compression check for extremely minimal cost.

Also, I did an A/C recharge once, it took a full week for everything to get cold again... not sure what caused it, but it worked better than before.

ask pops if he refilled the "high" side or the "low" side of the line. not sure what impact filling the "low" side would have though.. also, check under the hood to make sure that your belts are fine, and intact, not too loose as to not spin the pulleys...

I saw a sticker under the hood a few days ago that said the A/C system pressure needs to be pretty low and too much pressure in the system would cause damage. It was less than 1 bar of pressure on the low and high sides. There is a view glass to see if lube and coolent is flowing in the system on a line under the hood near the relay on the passenger side fender.

if it was "fine" before, why did your dad even mess with it? idiot !

take it to a decent shop and have the AC system purged and checked / refilled!

He prolly over pressurized the system. I did that one time in my civic when I wasn't really mechanically inclined. To much collant can lock up the compressor so get the gauge that comes with recharge kits and check the pressure......make sure its in the green and in the ambient temperature
