Hi from Puerto Rico ! Im planing to buy a 8K HID kit for my 04 Xb from a friend store $270.The thing is that im worried about the life of the bulbs cause i have the OEM alarm and every time i lock and unlock the lights come on.So my question is
Is there a way to turn that feature off?
.Thanks for the help.(I think there is a tread on this but i havent founded yet).

im hoping to get a 8k kit as well. what company? also, the bulbs should be fine, its just a quick flash, so unless you sit there for hours clicking it on and off every day i wouldnt see any issues. yet it technically would die sooner, but i dont think it would make too much of a difference. and clearly your dealer installed a non-scion alarm, without telling you. my school teacher had the same thing; his beeps when he unlocks/locks.... weird.....
Thank for the info Fuzzy my alarm beebs too, one beeb for lock, twice for unloock and three if i lock whit any entrance of the wagon open even whit all doors and trunk closed and only the hood open. So this is not an OEM alarm for Scion Xb? . So is there a way to turn off that feature of the headlights coming on. How can I upload the scan images of the security book that came whit the wagon?[/table]
Without knowing what alarm system you have - it's impossible to answer your question..
BTW, it's not the bulbs I would be worried about but the ballasts (since they are what gives the bulbs power)
$270 for bulbs is very expensive unless it's Bi-Xenon, their are vendors here on SL that sell cheaper and would probably ship to you
It's recommended that you use a fuse w/ the HIDs to avoid issues w/ your stock wiring harness even though technically there should be nothing to worry with as they draw less power then the OEM halogens.
I would recommend
the aero & exterior forum for numerous threads about HIDs and possibly messaging the vendors here on SL w/ questions (their websites have tons of information)
