Default HIDs & Alarms

Okay, so I 'm going to be installing an alarm on my box... problem is, I don't want my HIDs flashing when the alarm goes off.

(I know that there's a write up in the tC section, but I didn't see anything for the xB/xA)

So... anyone do this yet?

Which alarm do you have? Factory?
I wanna say that my headlights flash even if I hit the panic button on the remote.

Are you installing the alarm Ian? If so just make sure you don't hook up the headlights to flash with the alarm.

hm, with the factory alarm. I would find which wire gives the signal to the headlights. Clip it and re-wire to turn signal.

i have the lame scion security in my rs3.0, only the parking lights flash when arming / dis-arming and in panic mode - no headlights flash... you should be good to go.
*****edit ***
some of the info i posted above is not 100% correct - disreguard my comments please.,

i actually have the factory alarm installed also with hids. im not too sure if its the high beam halogen or low beam hids that flashes when the alarm goes off though. let me know if you figure out how to reroute the flashing. thanks.

i just got a factory alarm too that i will be hooking up soon with hids, i was pondering this same problem, thing is though, i believe the headlights only go off when the alarm is set off, and hopefully it wont be going off too often :-)

Yea, but in the event that it goes off and I'm not nearby, I don't want my HIDs flashing for 30 seconds, it's really bad for the ballasts.

my factory alarm has never gone off, unless i set it off for testing. hopefully nothing ever happens to my ballasts then. post up if somebody figures out the wiring for the parking lights to flash.
