Default how to sound deaden the engine noise?

Hi everyone,

I`m new here. I bought a xb 3 weeks ago and am happy with it.

When travelling on the highway at 75-80mph, the engine is at about 4000rpm(5spd) and that creates a lot of engine humming noise. What can I do to reduce this noise? I searched and almost read every thread about sound deadening, but seems like nobody is complaining about the engine noise, but the road noise? and in those threads, people sound deaden the doors, rear hatch, floor and roof, which area helps best? For now I can live with the wind noise but the engine noise is killing me. and no it is not from the wheel bearing, it is the engine noise at high rpm..

Thanks in advance.

Sound is not something you will ever get rid of, however...Can of undercoat can help some.
the other is to get sound mats and put them under the carpet..
The issue with that is the additional pounds.. if your concerned with that.
