the jeep is sold!! time for a new box!!! financing?
it goes without saying I am totally stoked about selling my jeep for a new xB, I gotta wait like another week for some things to go through with the people buying the car and all before I can go hunting for a new box and drop a fat down payment on it,
My question was do most people get a better interest rate through their respected banks than through scion? the dealer I spoke to said that their rate was a set interest rate for the most part. oh yeah and I have good credit

If you finance through Toyota, the rate will not be different from dealer to dealer. So you only have to check that once.
Depending on your credit rating, your bank could do you better.
I went through Toyota because I found what I wanted in stock and bought it before somebody else did.

Our salesman offered financing ('cause he's gotta ;^) and then told us we'd probably do better with another bank. We wound up with Associated Bank in Wisconsin for about a point lower on interest.
if you have good credit go to a bank or credit union, no doubt about it. toyota can't touch their rates.
a fat down payment might not affect your interest rate much, but it helps your bank account several years down the road. Also, find a loan that doesn't penalize you for paying it off early.

Yeah, my C.U. gave me 4.75% for my tC last year. I'm gonna be trading it in for a box in a few months and from what I have seen, 5.6% is the rate I'll be getting from them this time. I'll look into other places when it comes time to buy.
