Knee Pain???
Hey guys, My wife bought herself a RS 3.0 last march. 16 thousand miles later we have the typical complaints (rattles, rpm at speed, power) but I have another problem I hope I can get some input on.
If I drive the dern thing for more than about 45 minutes, my right knee starts to ache. Im 6'1", I have the seat all the way back. I dont know else to do. I have to **** my knee to the side (toward cntr stack) and it just kills me after a while. Im 30 yrs old and in good health, I drive for ten hours a day in a patrol car so its not driving thats doing it.
Anyone else have input? Im seriously hoping some one can help me out.

im 6'6" and had the same problem. i found with sitting in a more natural streighter up position i rarekly have knee pain.. and oddly enough i used to find myself sitting off to the side slightly and that contributes to it a whooole lot too..
6'0" here, seat all the way back. I don't ever get any pain, but I do get uncomfortable every now and then on a long drive. I just move my foot around, putting the heel on the pedal, then the toe.
That's probably very un-helpful and definitely not very descriptive. Good luck.

Yea, I'm 6'0" and every once in a while I have the same issue. If you keep your seat straight, it should force you to keep your knees farther from the dash. It might help. That's what I do.
If by patrol car you mean a Crown Vic, I can maybe help you. I've got a Crown and the box and I had the same knee pain when I drove the box long distances. Adjusting the seat back did not help at all, so I looked at what was different between the two vehicles. The Crown (and Impalas, Chargers, typical semi-luxury cars) has an upward tilt to the seat at the front end. And I had it angled way upward in the car. Now the xB's front seat seemed to slant downwards to me. All it took was adding a seat cushion to elevate the front part of my legs on the seat to make the pain go away. Other people on here have used spacers to elevate the front of the xB seat. Hope this helps.
EDIT: Oh, I'm 6'2".

At about 6 ft., and having had knee surgery about 3 years ago, I can honestly say I "feel your pain"!
I've found that if I extend my leg out so that my whole foot rests on the gas pedal (instead of just my toe like a lot of people tend to drive), it relieves all or most of the knee problem. It also helps with MUCH smoother take-offs with a clutch...

And although it sounds ridiculously easy to do, it is amazingly hard, as you may find out if you try.
Guys I appreciate all the responses. Though I wish I was the only one experiencing it Im kinda glad so many of you have had experience with it and have some solutions. To answer some of your questions
I have an Auto.
I keep the seat almost straight upright. (I have a K9 cage in my patrol car that forces my seat up so im used to it).
Since its my wifes car and she finds it perfect for her she might have some trouble with me modifying it.
I do find myself sitting off to the side (right side) as well.
I may try the cushion idea. It an easy way to solve the issue for the long drives that we take occasionally. It really only becomes an issue on those long drives. What I noticed is that the seat rails are simply a little tall and place you in that that upright position that the xB is so famous for. I have always felt it was like driving from a lawn chair.

Some things you may want to try.
First, you can try the washer trick for the front bolts.
Second, you can also try and swap out the springs. I has horrible back trouble that would travel down to my knees if i sat in it too long. I would recommend the Progress Springs.
