Looking into buying a xB
Hey guys,
I am new to the forum. I am actually looking into getting a 2006 xb this next coming weekend or the week after.
Just thought I would sign up on the forum and say wasup..
I am a frequent user on www.Solaraguy.org
I currently own a 2002 Toyota Solara..
You can view my car at www.cardomain.com/id/iazuncupidi
I've put a bunch of mods into it but im starting to part it out and I will be handing this car down to my Mom. Shes is in need of a new car so I thought I would be a good son.
My question is how much did everyone buy there car for??
I've looked at many dealers and im pretty much set on buying a 06 Polar White xB 5spd MT or the Onyx Blue 5spd MT.
I'm not really looking into buy any accessories from the dealer since its a rip.. I just kind of want all of the standard stuff. So pretty much base model and But I would eventually like to add some Coilovers and swaybar... some wheels.. Rear roof wing... and of course other misc items.
My Solara was a show car.. but i dont plan on turning it into once since I am kind of out of the show scene.. but something that is nice with plenty of Aftermarket tuning support and good for daily driving.
Any recommendations on parts and whats good and bad about particular products would be great.....
Thanks
Kenny

To answer your price question, Scion has the "Pure Pricing" meaning there is no haggling, and every dealer is supposed to post in plain site any additional fees they have, which are usually a destination fee, and maybe some other miscellaneous stuff like documentation and such. In any case, those fees are usually just a couple hundred dollars.
For parts, well, there are a lot out there and listing good ones and bad ones would take a while, so when you decide what you want, take a peek in the specific areas of SL for suspension, wheels, ICE, etc.
Good luck!

Welcome Kenny, you'll love the box. I purchased mine for $16,004 out the door M/T no frills because everything I wanted was better and cheaper from the after market. As far as parts, that's personall preferance, and dealing with people, and reading posts just like any car. I do however recomend the strup products as they are high quality, and fit well. Also work wheels, andf the Fabulous body kit, Mmmmm.....
Thanks for your reply's.. I guess ill just have to wait and see what I am going to do. I really like my Current Wheels (SSR Professors SP1) on my Solara... So im looking into maybe getting a set of those for the Xb. I would probably go with 18x8 all around. From reading the forum it looks like the rear sits farther in than the front so i would be looking into getting staggered offset set-up. I know with 8" wide wheels I would need to shave or roll the rear and front fenders so thats not a problem. I just want the wheels to sit flush with the fenders of the car. It looks as if the front with a 37offset with sit pretty flush and maybe a 32offset would be nice for the rear. About a 5mm difference is what im getting from reading other members post.
It also seems that allot of members are going for the Tein basic damper set-up for lowering.. Does JIC make anything for the xB??? I would love to go with a set of FLT A1's.
I've been browsing the forum for a while looking/searching for allot of the questions I've had and so far its been pretty helpful.
Does anyone have TRD sway bars?? Or if they even make it. I didn't find much on sway bars....
I also looking into a lip kits.. I kind of want to stay simple.. kind of like how my Solara is.. like a simple TRD kit with alittle more curve to it... Any suggestions??
thanks again
Regards,
Kenny
