It runs quite differently than the xB when it comes to low end torque. It doesnt feel like any car Ive ever driven. Very much like a streetable go -kart.
Now, I have a problem.... what to do with the xB. Right now I'm thinking of keeping it. Hard to beats it utility and mpg. Will see..
Excellent choice in vehicles! ;)
Here's my pair:

My advice... keep 'em both! The xB is mine, the Cooper is my wife's. We love having a pair of unique, fun to drive cars that cost less than the price of a single behemoth SUV.

When all was said and done, it cost us about $34,000-$35,000 to buy both a new 04 Mini Cooper and new 05 Scion xB.

Off topic here... but this phrase ____es me off. Work hard, get a good degree, and you'll end up being well off.

Mike: Congrats on your hard work to be able to afford the things you want.
I worked my ___ off and have a good degree... can't really consider myself well off. The economy sucks and unless you have an edge on someone through contacts or favors, it's really tough to get ahead.

So how's the mini treating you? I have an employee looking to get one. You have the MCS right, the supercharged one.

No when I see SUV drivers I automatically think a$$hole. Look around, they're usually the ones tailgating or doing 20 over the limit.

I Like the interior! Very sexy! It is like the xB's nephew! I wish I could have afforded one but I really wanted the room of the xB.

The comment that a person who is 6'3" has enough room in a "Mini" is baloney. I'm 6'3" and sat in one and felt like a sardine in a can. They are super-tiny cars. The XB has way more head room and I don't know what he is talking about more legroom than the XB. . . more baloney. I'm glad the person likes the "Mini" but don't believe for a moment it has anywhere close to the interior room of the XB.

It's obvious you don't have a clue. I am 6'4 and there is more leg room in the mini than the xB. Headroom is less in the mini, but I still have 3 inches or so. Try adjusting the seat next time you sit in one.

I'll second that notion. A female friend of ours has a MCS, and she's maybe 5'6". Plenty of room for herself. But for anyone over 6'2", not the case. It has a lot of space for a small car, but nowhere near as much room as the xB! Minis are very cool inside/out: the turquoise blue with white bonnet stripes is the best color I believe!

And, for those a$$holes who're tailgating us Scion drivers, back the f*** off! Driving my box the past two weeks has been GREAT. 'Cept these idiots in the F350s and almost every SUV make who think it's funny to cut me off in the accel lane merging onto the highway, and I'm doing at least 60 to slide into traffic flow!

I'll be when gas hits $3 and they're crying they can't get a good trade-in for their gas hogs! Karma hurts.

Wow, what a great lawn! I envy you people on the east coast with your lush, green lawns! Post more pics of lawns!

Oh, and I love the Mini S, too!

It is obvious ptmccain, that you dont know what you are talking about, I am 6'7" (if you dont belive me ask tCpony, Peteyd, smurfytC, Eiso, they know me.) and I have TONS of room in the Mini, yes, granted, not as much headroom as the xB, but addiquate, and WAY more leg room.

Doing great so far! I enjoy the supercharger whine and it feels pretty strong in the mid range. Comfy and the xenons are awesome. The car is really unique.. Don't see many around and its easy to find among all the other suppository looking cars.

I still have the xB... I don't think I can give it up... I enjoy driving it and its very useful!

As for the comments about the mini being small... maybe on the outside! Yes, the rear seat is small and almost useless,, but the front seats are very roomy! Im 6 foot 3 and with the seat all the back, I can BARELY reach the pedals! Plenty of headroom also for a helmet as I will track this car... The best part about the mini is the go-kart like handling! It's fun to drive and 0-60 in 6.4 secs is cool too...

OK, obviously mini enthusiasts are going to defend their precious Mini. Anyone who wants to know what it feels like to shoehorn yourself into one, just go to a dealership and try it out. I know for a fact that any attempt to compare the interior "feel" and space of Mini to the xB is ridiculous. Don't believe me? Go try it yourself and compare.
