More for less? Let's see.. 170hp supercharged intercooled engine, independent rear suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, electronic brake distribution, xenon headlights, chrome trim (not plastic), limited slip diff, dual panel sunroof, awesome looking interior....
the thing handles like a go-kart... built by BMW and it has all the qualities... I find the mini to be a better bargain than the xB. I keep finding more things to like about the mini... for example... the key contains the remote entry functions... when the key is in the ignition, it charges the battery.
The go-kart like handling and the great torque really make for a fun drive. The mini is also uses thicker sheet metal and is built more solid. Thats why it costs more. but you get what you pay for. I still love the xB and plan on keeping it... but the mini runs circles around it.. no mods required.

As for apples and oranges... you are nothing but sour grapes..
talking about cars and sharing information is what the internet and forums is about. Seems to me you are nothing but a jealous whiner who is also ignorant. I'm sure your parents must be proud.

Enjoy your Mini Cooper. Love it to death. We are happy for you. It is a cute and cool little car. But do NOT come on a board dedicated to the Scion xB and post baloney about how you have as much interior room as an xB. That's just ridiculous!

xB is 284LBs lighter then mini, but bigger in size.

So looking over that stuff, you pretty much get a car with a little more HP that will cost you more in the long run + more to buy. I would not mind a mini, if they sold for about $13k. For the sticker on a S you can get much faster cars.

Mini Cooper S - $37,722 / $.50 per mile.
Scion xB - $28,108 / $.37 per mile.

*These numbers are just based on the average reported price for the listed cars. So the Mini S has a MSRP listed as $26k for my area & the xB has a $15,527.

Over all its just a bunch of numbers. It realy just breaks down to if you like it or not.

I cant find the site any more, but there was one that had a great break down of how leg room is measured. It was dependent on how far back in the seat one was. Then measured to the edge of the seat (following human leg curve over seat) once at the edge it was then like a 42* angle to the floor board. So some cars can have much more leg room then what they are rated for. A good example of this. Me seated in a mazda miata with a rated 42.8 in leg room with driver seat all the way back. My knees hit the dash & I get cramps in my hips. Me in my Focus ST (when I had it) 40.7 in. rated front leg room. Did not need seat all the way back & no problems with cramps or knees hitting dash.

 

No what really ____es me off is people who go off over small simple comments that where not even directed at them. I know plenty of people who got GREAT grades and a Super Degree and are working at Walmart to make ends meet. So get off your high horse please.

I remember the time I was stuck driving a 15 year old car and thought the same thing as this guy. Then I finally got LUCKY and feel into a decent job and now I own a 2006 xB, 2005 RX8, and a 2004 SRT-4. Guess what? I barely Graduated High School and I have no kinda degree to speak of.....
