no bashing intended, but probably he did not test drive his xB nor read the specs when he bought his xB. Probably one of those who buys the car because its unique. now that he got his Mini, he'll probably will expect more on his car.... and the cycle continues...

As I said earlier, I didn't have a car for nearly a month, so a side-by-side was not possible, BUT, the pics were taken from the same angles on the same street.....

Look.. try reading his post... He said it was a comparison... do you see anything resembling that?

Here is his comparison:

"Yeah, baby- you KNOW what I like.

I am totally happy with this car. It beats the Scion quite a bit. Even the base model is impressive. "

Yes.. I understand he's happy with the mini... I am too.. but please tell me how this post wou;dn't be taken the wrong way by scion owners... and where is the review?
So try to comprehend a little bit when you read.

dgboggs .. look man... I'm not pickin on ya... just letting you know there are better ways to express yourself... I think you miffed alot of folks on here who are really into their cars... I know your excitement level is thru the roof.... but so are the xB lovers on here...

Anyway... nice ride you have there.. I know you will love it.... Have you banged 3rd gear and caught rubber... I was impressed with that... Did you get the LSD optoin.. , sunroof?
DSC... you need to turn DSC off for the 3rd gear action... Did you have them program your options.... I have mine for the doors to unlock when I pull the key but not to lock when I start off.... Also you can flick the high beams before you get out and the lights stay on for 30 secs... many other features there too... with the 05's and up, the key charges up while its in the ignition.. so be sure to switch out keys every 5 months or so... enjoy.

Hi All, thought this would be a good place to start for my 1st post in this forum since I was jonesing for a Mini since before they were available. With 5 vehicles in the driveway, all trucks and all at or approaching 200K we realized that this year it was time for a new *ugh* car. Our 1st choice was going to be a Mini and we really, really wanted our test drives to be favorable. Yes, the Mini was a blast to drive; both the Cooper & the S, but to our surprize and disappointment we found them a little too uncomfortable for the long haul. We'd also tested the xB the same weekend and were quite pleased with it considering the price. Still unsure after lurking around here for a couple of weeks and reading all about the squeaks, rattles, road noise, and broken windshields we weren't ready to pull the trigger. Enter the Audi A3, extremely nice, comfortable, and quite capable alternative to the Mini , though at $30k+ , we *settled* on our PW 5spd xB at half the price, took only 2 weeks to get by the way, and couldn't be happier. We'll see in 10~20k if there's enough Toyota reliability built into the xB. But for now at least, it seems like a bargain. I don't expect the kind of performance found in the MINI or the Audi, no where near, but the xB suits my needs for $10~15K less, is unique, and while cheap, you can't say it isn't fun to drive.
Sorry for being so long winded. ....C

Well, first of all, I express myself the way I like.

Yep!
I've honestly never gone above 3000 rpm's.
I had them change the program so that when the ignition is turned off, the doors unlock.
Yeah, thanks for reminding me- I'll have to be sure to keep that key charged

They specify a long breakin... it was tough... but slowly start bringing the rpm's up a bit more each time.... The break-in time is more for you to get used to the car then it is for the mechanicals. The car handles very different than most... thats the main reason for the break-in.... It's to break you in... At 500 miles... things are pretty much seated. You will like it above 3K rpms... its just getting started....

Stop telling me this, you're making me want to go drive!!

Yes, the car is really that much fun, to the nay-sayers. There is truly no other car like it.

Just wait until you chirp the tires on the 3rd gear shift... You won't stop grinning...
Out of the hole... it bogs down... so you have to get used to taking off... especially with the AC on... Also you get some yo-yo effects from the blow off valve... when you lift throttle slightly... it will slow and surge... all part of the forced induction experience...
Its quick on the hwy... the thing really moves and passing is a blast.. Let me know when you pass the break-in BS... Also start to rev it out a little.... go a little higher each time...
The ECU also needs to relearn your new driving style... so it will get faster when you are ready

"Yes, the car is really that much fun, to the nay-sayers. There is truly no other car like it."

You should experience my Z06.... its totally awesome.... scary even..
