It was candy apple red transparent, buy two cans (should be plenty) I got mine at a model store.

The smoke is actually vinyl, overlaid on the red tails... the tails in pics 2 and 3 are the same.

I tried doing a set of tails with niteshades, but it came out more purple than I wanted. I'm very happy with the vinyl, it matches the car better.

 

I just used factory paint on my tails.
