A piece missing off my grille
On the bottom grille of my xB on the passenger side, there is an approximately two inch by four inch piece of black plastic that snaps over a recess in the metal. When I washed my car the other day, I noticed that the piece was gone. I don't know if it happened when my bumper got banged and gouged up or if it happened while I was driving. My question is this: Is this piece necessary, other than for aesthetic purposes? Where would I buy a replacement piece, if it is necessary? Thank you for your help. I greatly appreciate this site and the helpful people on it.

are you talking about one of the peices missing here of the bottom of the blue/white one

if so then no, they are just cosmetic, and they shouldnt be that much... but let me check i may have a set lying around in the garage... many friends have had their body kits installed at my place

Grrr--I noticed mine was missing just a few days ago (yep, passenger side). I was wondering what was there to begin with, and waiting for a chance parking-lot visit with another xB to check it out.
Looks like these fall off very easily.

haha, i'm missing the same piece too !
been missing it for about half a year. looks like toyota didn't stick this part on as well as the other parts of the grille. oh well.
i'm just gonna leave it missing. it gives it almost like a pseudo-intake spot.
