mine havent fallen out yet. but i havent messed with them yet

 

So I went to the dealer yesterday. The service guy wanted to know how he could help me. I politely explained that I lost a piece off my grille, and it should be replaced under warranty. He walked around to look, and the first thing he did was to hit the bumper with his foot (where the scratches are) and say, "Well, you hit something right there. It's damaged." I said "I know. The piece fell off before the damage occurred. The first time it fell off, I was washing my car. I sprayed it with the hose and it came off. I was not using a high-pressure hose, either. So I popped it back in. Yes, there is damage, but the piece was still there after I noticed the damage. A few days later, I noticed the piece was gone. I have spoken with other Scion owners. Scion is aware of the problem and is replacing these pieces under warranty. The new pieces are supposed to fit in tighter, and have a tether in case they fall out." "But the bumper is damaged." (Using my 'Mom' voice now) "The piece fell out before the damage occurred. It was there after the damage occurred. It fell out again a few days later." "I'll have to call the service manager." "OK." I waited a few minutes, then the service manager came in. Before he got all the way to my car, the first guy said, "See? The bumper's damaged," as though he were tattling. I repeated to the manager what I had said to the first guy. He thought about it for a minute and then told the first guy to have the warranty service performed. I was then told to have a seat in the waiting room while the warranty service was performed on my vehicle. Two minutes later, someone came back in to inform me the keys were in the switch and my vehicle was ready to go.

 

mine fell off too in a minor fender bender, didnt notice it though for 2 days, went back to the place of the accident to find it run over 50,00000000 times and completely flat. i laughed and walked away, to tell you the truth i still have the piece
