Default plastic nipple fell in 5MT when doing fluid change.

This sucks.
I was using a pump that attaches to the amsoil bottle. On the other end is a plastic nipple you stick in the fill hole, and you pump the trans fluid right in.

Well, it fell in. All the way in. I re-drained it (bye bye $30 worth of Amsoil) hoping it would come out the other end, but not even close. It's stuck in the valley of the transmission casing below the fill plug.

What I've tried to get it out:
-coat hangar
-long pick-hook type thing with a screwdriver handle
-shop-vac with a tube duct taped to it, trying to suck it out.

It won't budge. I can't tell if I'm just not reaching it, because there is no way to get light in there and an object for fishing at the same time. I'm almost to the point of taking this f***ing thing apart. I've been at it 5 hours in some messed up yoga poses trying to see in the hole and fish this piece of sh!! out. GDI SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME I AM NOT OUT OF OPTIONS.

What happens if I just...leave it in there?

some thing like that but you can get 'em for much much much much cheaper then that if you can still see the nipple piece that you dropped in...

first off,
you sound very frustrated (rightfully so)
first thing to do is step away from the car to collect yourself...perhaps a dental inspection mirror can help you locate the piece to see what position it is in

you might have to bend your own custom tool out of a hangar
good luck

if you feel your blood start to boil

step away from the car....

well, I took the side of the tranny case off. Yeah, it came to that. I was able to see it and dig most of it out, but it was so brittle that it kind of came apart. As was mentioned, I'm going to drive it around for a day or two, then drain/fill again. for now, it seems to be driving OK (5 mile or so test drive just now).

thanks again, everyone.
