hey whipple what brand/type of paint did you use, I never thought of painting mine, but the ones you guys got look tight as well, something really tight, maybe a rubberband
it was just Rustoleum regular ol white enamel...just clean it real good and take ur time masking...Key words..."take your time masking"!!!! I cant stress it enough...if u dont mask it good enough, its gonna look like shiznit
That may last fine! OTOH, it's old fashioned alkyd enamel. it gets a bit brittle with age and heat. If the paint is thick it has more tendency to fail. It should grip to the cover quite well, though.
I am an amateur paint reasearcher--very amateur! . If Krylon Fusion is available I would say use this instead because it is new tech and purpose-made for this job. It wet-sands quite well and dries to touch like a lacquer and hard-through in a few days to a week at most.
Haha, goddam...your just a freakin plethera of knowledge!! lol...I think thats how u spell that...do u know that too? lol...we'll see tho, it'll last as long as I want it to I'm sure...eventually I'll get one of them carbon fiber ones...it'll fit right into my black and white them I got goin -- I want people to look at my car and think they are looking at a B&W picture!
