Default rental XB

My sister bought a TC and they gave her a new XB right off the lot as her rental while she waited for the TC. Well, when she pulled the lever to open the gas door when she needed to fill up it wouldnt open. It ended up taking 2 people to open the damn gas door thing!! One had to pull the lever and the other had to push in on the inside of the door to get it opened! Is this a common problem in the XB cause this car was brand new. I'm thinkin it will be the first recall on the Xb model but who knows, that one may have been a defect or something :o

No problems here. I got 3800 miles on mine with dozens of refuelings, never had any problem with the gas door. it just pops right open when I pull the lever.

Then again, you did say it was a rental. Rental cars often have problems and quirks with them because you dont know what previous drivers have done to the vehicles.

Maybe that was one reason the dealer had that xB as a rental.

the cable probablr just needs tightened... I've never had that problem with any car I've had before, but my pops had a Fiero that he bought for like $400 that had that problem... tightened 'er up and presto, it works.

I've done one fill up on my xB. Pushed the lever and it popped the door right open.

Almost 14K miles on my car and no problem! Like everyone said it could be that the cable was not tight enough... :D

Default xB is not a new car !

Toyota has been making bB ( = xB ) for over 4+ years with the same production line over Japan.
Yours might just coincident.
