well, if they are in the car when it gets to the dealership i can't take them out....cause scion looks at my invoice and what i sold the car for. and also, the tC floormats are 145 dollars....the xA and xB mats are 120.

you can have them take the mats out of the car.
it's an OPTION for your car.
so if you don't want it, they have to take them out.
you dont have to buy anything you dont want.

I almost bought an xA last weekend, i wasn't sure but they either had one coming in or ordering one but they said it had to have floor mats. And i didn't want the mats. i wanted bone stock but they kept saying no. I need some advice when i do buy, should i fork over the $120 if the color and car is already at the dealership or should i save the that money and get them to order me a bone stock xA but wait a little longer? I'd like some opinions, thanks guys

Do you need a vehicle right now or you only want the color right now? Wait and force them to order a vehicle without the floormats. If they still don't budge find another dealership and is willing to give you the right customer service. Scion dealerships should not FORCE you to buy something that they have configured but is not on the lot. If issues persist: contact Scion Corp. Customer Care at 1-866-70-SCION. Tell them that the dealer/stealership won't order the vehicle you want. Also before you head over to the same/another dealership print out what you want at Scion.com Build a Scion site. If they do not budge, definitely call 1-866-70-SCION.

Screw the floormats....and screw any dealer that forces you to buy them...especially with Scion's alacarte philosophy...it just makes no sense. A SMART dealer (the one we bought her xA at & then my xB) orders the cars bone stock & has all the accesories IN STOCK to be added ONLY IF YOU WANT THEM.

If the dealer is a moron, you shouldn't suffer.

Same thing at our store.

But as for having to buy them or not, if a car comes with mats, the car is sold with mats because -- and this is very important -- it's on the sticker and the original manufacturer's invoice.

Any alteration has to be declared in writing. Otherwise the dealer is not compliant. That's a lot of paperwork for a set of floor mats.

I've not seen the Scion floor mats. Can't in my wildest imagination picture $120.00 for a set - 2 piece, 4 piece, 5 piece, or otherwise. That said, being the owner of a Buick Reatta, collectors do want the Reatta mats. I have a set that I do not use. The previous owner did however.

What I'm saying is; if you 'must' take the high dollar mats - I'd still go to WallyWorld or some such place and plop down $10.00 - $40.00 dollars for rugs or mats, and save the Scion logo'd ones.
I paid about $20.00 dollars for a set of large gray (match the roof liner) mats. They fit very, very nicely and do not move around.

While we're talking collecting. You might want to take very good care of the owner's manual as well. The Reatta one seems to be a hot comodity. Also the window sticker (can you believe it?). If the xB is truly going away in platform and name......Wheel covers too.
