They are cute - I've seen a good number of them scooting about in traffic in BC. Awfully expensive, though.

Well, Ferdinand Porsche's Volkswagen (people's car) was introduced in 1939, and HAS to be
the world's longest running model production.

(And of course the SMART car is DaimlerChrysler.)

There HAVE been other tiny german cars, like BMW's Isetta 250, 300, and
600
which was sold here in the us back in the mid '50s, early '60s - I remember
laughing at them then. Earlier there were 'things' like the Messerschmitt 'bubble car' (let's face
it, the Germans just may have the record for the, er, strangest little cars)...

Actually, here's an interesting bunch of odd cars...

http://www.lexam.net/peter/carnut/oddball.html

Some of those things look like something designed after a long night of anchovy pizza and
beer...

Yeah--I think this Ferdinand guy made some other air cooled rear enginged cars when he was through with the bug. Some of those liitle cars make our boxes look like Hummers...........

Isn't this the dealership where Steve Urkle got his car from?
