Well. Since there are already big holes in it, I don't think it would do any damage. But then again, there might be a little qwerk that I don't know about...

 

theres a kid i know who took both of em out when he installed an intercooler.. besides the ability of bugs to straight hit your radiator and disintegrate (or a rock), the grill does help (somewhat) in dulling/deflecting the hit of rocks,bugs, aminals, leaves,
