For those interested in the xB's demand.
I was not even in the market for a car, but was just beginning to look and some of the guys I work with were looking at the Scion autos. I decided I would go to the local dealer and test drive one for grins, just knowing the xB would be too small for a man of my size. (325 and 6'2")
The dealer had a demo(auto, loaded 22K sticker) it drove Ok and had plenty of room for me and the family. The dealer asked if I wanted one and I said "Sure, for this much per month and it must be black, 5spd and the base model. No options. I did not expect the call the next afternoon to come drive my car. Bought on the spot! That was almost a month and a half ago. I love my xB! The dealer had a call from another dealer for some trading and the other dealer had my xB on the lot. The local dealer had to trade two Camrys for it. LOL Not sure what the demand is for them here but the dealer could not keep them on the lot when I got mine. They mentioned that the xA's were the same way. Not sure about the TC.

Ordered my PW 5-speed base on 10/10 and got the call it was on it's way and could take up to a week on 11/9. When I left my deposit the salesman told me they usally get them in 2 days, but he tells everyone 2 week just to keep out of trouble.
That's the only thing I don't like about the way you buy Scions. The hurricanes came and showed me that my S-10 can't swim to well, nor the place I work, and apartment.
After finding a new place out of town and setteling up with my insurance, I needed a job. Up to a 2 weeks vaction sounded nice, but started to get annoying when that time went by and I couldn't get the dealership on the phone and when I finnaly did they basically said they had no idea when it was coming.
After another 2 weeks, and faced with having to use the money for my Xb to pay bills to live on, I was fixing to go get a Chevy HHR. I'm glad I got the call letting me know its on the way because I hate the HHR, and really love the Xb.
I'm still mad about the intrest rate being lower when I wanted my Xb and being higher when I finally get it.
Scion needs to have a tracking system to help this problem. I know between all the dealers in a given area they have hundreads of cars of all different types ordered at all times. When a car is ordered they should be able to check with dealers within there area in under 2 days, and give the customer a "come pick up your car" or a "I have one expected for delivery on about XX/XX".

I've ordered 2006 xb through Grossinger Sion in Chicago, put $500 fully refundable deposit. The salesman promised one within 6 weeks. However, my current car (92 sentra se, 233K miles) suddenly asked me for a brake job. I called all Scion dealerships in Chicago area and found the exact color and 5 speed trany at Arlington Scion in Buffalo Grove, IL. Picked it up last week, nice people, no hassles, pure price etc.
I guess I got lucky...

I waiting 2 weeks for my XB. Not bad really. I didn't have a ride and the dealer gave me a loaner XB for 2 weeks for free. That made me happy.
I think the Scions come off the ship base and the distributor gunks them up. I asked for a true base and that's what I got. For $699 Southeast Toyota gives you undercoating Vin etching and Toyo Guard. Not for me didn't want them to make an extra $699 off me.
