I'm supposed to be getting an xB as a graduation present, I have two semesters left and then I walk in May. So I've been reading up on this website because I'm getting all anxious! THEN I read all the reports about discontinuing the xB in 2007! NOOOOOO!

Do you think that May/June 2007 will be too late to buy a new xB before its gone forever....or reincarnated as something hideous??

 

It's certainly starting to look that way. If there was going to be a 2007 xB I expect we'd have heard about it by now. And all the dealers who post here seem to be unanimous saying there won't be.

So apparently they will continue to ship the 06's and sell them until there are no more. Maybe the last ones off the boat will be the rumored RS4.0. But it would be a surprise if they're still around by May.

/\/\/\ They surly won't still be selling 06' models in May of 07'. If you want the current one I'd get one now while the getting is good. Remember also the 4 week plus wait involved.
Like rdclark said. The next year models have been on sale by July 1st for the last couple years. My 05' was bought the end of June 04'

 

yeah, sorry kid, but it doesnt look like there will be any left around that time, that are new.

eek, my mom still doesn't believe me when I say the xBs won't be around much too longer. I'll be sad if I can't get a B. Maybe I'll get it for my birthday in August. :biting nails: is there an estimate for as to how much longer if I want to "order" one? Any help is greatly and I mean greatly, appreciated.

 

bBlover , Take her to the dealer and let them tell her. Unsure if they will be taking orders in August or not. I do hope that you can get one before they are all gone though.

 

I hope I do too. I will be sad if I can't. She said they're too popular to go outta production, I told her yeah they are but they're life cycle is 3-4 years.

 

Tell your mom to get on it. They will stop producing the current style and you will be SOL

I'm doing my best to stay on my best behavior (even though I already do, sometimes I get a little cranky) and I'm passing summer school (I'm not goin bcuz I didn't pass any classes) so as long as those things happen its almost certain I'll have it. But we went to the dealer Thurs and checked out quite a few boxes and now that I went I want an xB sooooo bad, and I've seen a lot of em too lately!!

It looks like the 2 of you are in the same boat. Times a wasting...tic, toc, tick, toc....

 

I just heard from a dealer that they will continue producing the xB's til December but the new model xB will be out in April and the xA in May. You may be able to get one as late as Febuary but by then we should know what the new models will look like and you may like them better. If you are set on the xB I would beg and plead to get it a few months early.

Get what you can afford, and get some driving time in, then save your money and and buy a used xb later.

Honey0bucket, that was funny. But if I told that to my mom she'd b*&%h slap that pie to my face and then some, I also might as well have forgot about getting any car if I did that. yeah i know,..im afraid if isaid it to my mom...i'd get the pie in the face as well.

 

Keep your eyes peeled--no one knows (or tells) for sure at this point. One post said that there would be xBs through this Christmas and then possibly the RS4 to end production---do you like brown?? You might get the best of both worlds and be able to pick between first and second generation. Good luck!!

 

Thanks everyone for the help I surely appreciate it!! I'm gonna keep my eyes open, I also may be suprised with the box for my bday. So idk. OldYeller- no I don't like brown (I've already sen the RS 4.0 color and I wish they woulda used the mazora purple instead) thanks again everyone!!
