the manual is totally more performance minded compared to the auto.

but that's cool, not everyone needs that extra pep. however, any of you fools that buy an auto and then immediately got on here asking when turbo kits are going to be coming out...that's unwise. if you wanted performance, you could save yourself a lot of money and just have gotten manual in the first place. if you want to hold hands or manually stimulate your girlfriend while you drive, that's another story. but you guys do realize that you only need to shift when you're changing speeds, and when you are just cruising down the highway, your right hand is free to do whatever it wants.

once people go manual, sometimes they never go back. so the excuse that you or your girlfriend or wife doesn't know how is retarded. the xB is one of the easiest manuals i've ever driven, and you can teach or be taught how to drive one in less than 20 minutes. you only live once (unless you're hindu).

actually, it's more JDM to get an automatic, since a manual bB is not available in japan.

Don't have my xB yet, but I'll be going with an auto when I get it. I have a stick in my Miata, and while it's fun out in the desert or whatever, it's a b*tch in LA gridlock.

Since it's a cruiser car, I might have considered getting the auto-tranny if it came with steering wheel column mounted shifter just like the JDM bB. But as you know, US version has the lame same-o floor auto-gear selector. Lame~

ok, so after over 80 votes, we have a 60/40 split on manual vs. automatic. i wonder what that ratio is for element or PT cruiser owners. probably more like 20/80 manual to auto ratio. pretty interesting.

You also have to remember that this is just for ScionLife members. I'd assume that most of us want a little more control than what the automatic provides so we'd have more members choosing manual. I wouldn't be surprised if they sold more automatics than manuals.

Got an automatic...

Really wanted a stick, I hate automatics, but g/f, soon to be wife, can't drive one. Granted the clutch take up is really short compared to my s2k. Stick is kinda low though. I only wish she will learn to drive stick - she doesn't even want to learn .

Btw, the auto doesn't shift very quickly, it seems there is a 1 sec. gap between upshifts. Maybe I am used to sticks, but it is a little annoying at times. I am hoping it's due to the lack of torque for crisp shifts. I hope the gap doesn't increase, as the older Honda automatics tend to exhibit.

Yeah but alot of people are under the illusion that the car is sooo much slower with auto, its no big deal, its fine.
