That makes sense then. It's not just the RS2.0 ones doing it.
Maybe the new replacement ones hopefully will not repeat the same problem. It's a nice sounding exhaust and I hate that you all are having this problem in the first place.

Do not roll over and play dead for the dealership. They LIE! I'm also lowered and
supercharged as well. They had no issue with that. It's obviously a product defect.
You need to call Scion and file a claim. They did ask me if I removed the tip on
purpose. Then they offered to weld a new cosmetic tip on the existing muffler.
THEY HAVE NO CLUE!!!
I posted the following question on Scion.com feedback area. Let's see what happens. I think the more that do this the better response we will get.
Hello, my name is Donald Lundgren, my wife and I are current owners of a 2005 xB RS 2.0 and a 2006 xB RS 3.0 and we have an interesting question. The DC Sports single canester axleback exhaust that came with the RS2.0 package has been giving me and many other RS2.0 owners a very hard time. We have been discussing this on ScionLife, where I am an active member. The tip of mine and other's exhausts have been cracking at the welds and falling off and to top it off, when we take it in for warranty work, many of the dealerships give us a hard time. Personally mine fell off and I was fortunate that it happened as I was turning into my development and as such was going at low speed(about 10mph) and it did no harm others. I heard it and watched it roll on the ground in my rear view mirror. I stopped and picked it up and went to the dealer that day. Had I been on the highway or something this could have caused a big problem for anyone that would have been behind me as this is a very heavy tip. At first they acted like it was my fault but when I showed them that it was obvious that the weld did not have any real penetration and as such failed they agreed it was a product defect. They got a replacement ordered and got it replaced without incident. I got lucky that we were still within warranty but just barely. Now I do not want this to happen again as my warranty has now expired. I have seen where this has happened up to four times to other owners, and have no means of fixing it or replacing it. I am just wondering, why, after so many RS 2.0 owners have brought theirs in, that a recall or some sort of isnpections has not been issued. That is all, thank you for your time, and keep up the awesome work, we love our Scions, except for the exhaust problem.

I talked to scion this afternoon and they stated they have recieved everyone email. And they do watch our site. And will have someone call me back on monday! For anyone that has not sent one please do it will help.
I talked to scion this morning about the tip. And stated that because the car was lowered without trd springs they will do nothing. I even told them about a the other cars And that compare to stock system it sits 4-5in lower out the back. They put a ____ system on the car and won't back it up!

Everyone should have the same contact person at Scion Corp. to resolve this for the whole group. Scion will have a very hard time trying to prove that the lowering springs are what caused the tip to fail. What about the ones that were still stock height?
It might take some time but all the defective DC exhausts will be taken care of. There are too many of them to not do all of them!

Got this answer back, but have not called yet. I have not had the problem yet--just the concern.........

Here is my message I sent to Scion.
With all the issues of RS 2.0 XB owners with the DC Sport exhaust, I am concerned that I will have an issue with mine. I now have 37k miles on mine with no problems yet. Another local RS 2.0 has already had to have his replaced due to defective welds. I know what I am talking about, as I have welded my share of stainless. 31 years Industrial maintenance. I like the sound of my exhaust and also because it is badged as part of the release series. I have the extended warrenty, but since this is a widespread issue, will there be a recall for this part? I am also a member of Scionlife, and this has been discussed in the Scion community. Looking forward to your responce. Thank you,
Jim
Here is their reply.
We are sorry for any concern you may be experiencing regarding your Scion xB RS 2.0. Although we have had some isolated cases regarding the issue you have described, the numbers are extremely low. This is nowhere near the amount that would require an investigation into a possible Special Service Campaign or Recall. But, we understand your concern and assure you that we stand strongly behind our product, and are confident of their reliability. We have documented your comments under reference # 200702051631. Please contact us directly at 866-707-2466, Monday-Friday 5:00am-6:00pm PST with your reference number, if we could be of any assistance.
